2.7  TIFF

TIFF is a standard image format that can be generated by many image acquisition and image manipulation systems.

The "TIFF File" record that is created on import contains a list of "TIFF Planes" each of which contains the metadata for that plane of the image stack. Each plane record contains a image of that plane and the "TIFF File" record contains a image of dependent on the "Image Detail" configuration for the importer.

File identification

The importer operates on files with the extension .tif or tiff.

Configuration Options

The TIFF importer is an image stack importer and therefore supports all of the image import options described in the Image (Thumbnail) options section.

Limitations and Known Issues

• The importer currently works only on local files.
• The importer does not import compressed TIFF files.
