eCAT is a browser-based electronic lab notebook (ELN or OLN) that lets scientists record experiments and manage data over the web.
We developed eCAT because feedback from many sources - customers, visitors to our website, and discussions in science blogs - points to the pressing need for a powerful but affordable online OLN that is tailored to the real needs and working practices of scientists.
We have received lots of useful feedback about eCAT from testers since the launch of the beta in September 2008. Beta testing will continue through May, and the first commercial version of eCAT will be released in June 2009.

To give beta testers visibility going forward, we are committing now to an affordable price when the commercial version of eCAT is introduced: $50 non-profit/$100 commercial per user per year, with scaled volume discounts.

The beta is finished. Thanks for participating. The release version of eCAT will be available on July 8th.

The Axiope blog is where we discuss eCAT development and plans with users and the broader science community.

eCAT is now fully compatible with Safari and OSX. You can install eCAT on an OSX server and browse it using Safari 3.
We also support Internet Explorer version 7 and above and Firefox version 2 and above.
