CATALYZER 2.1 for Research Data Management Released
Enhanced capabilities for biobanking, specimen tracking,
inventory management, image management, electronic data capture
and electronic lab notebook
Cambridge, MA, January 2nd, 2006
Axiope today released version 2.1 of its flagship Catalyzer product. Highlights of the new release include:
-
Image AnnotationThis feature
enables researchers to add annotations directly to images,
fostering communication in a scientific environment. With
over 80% of the data in a biomedical lab now in image format,
researchers can now to highlight points or areas of interest
to be shared with and reviewed by other users. The original
data is protected by automatic file versioning.
-
Gallery View
Researchers can browse thumbnails of multiple images in an
image catalog.
-
Transparent Traceability
Multiple layers of bidirectional record references are
maintained through the support of inverse attributes.
This gives the researcher the ability to see and navigate
the links between different records, such as the links
between a sample and all of the experiments using that
sample, without needing to run a separate search.
-
Inventory ManagementBar code printing and scanning is now supported for a
variety of devices including those using state-of-the-art
Bluetooth technology. In addition the enhancement
incorporating inverse attributes allows researchers to find
all records referring to an inventory item.
-
Data IntegrityData integrity is enhanced by multiple new features.
Data entry is simplified through data entry forms
incorporating commonly used default values. In addition,
meta-data and other non-modifiable data extracted from various
instruments or in various file formats is safeguarded by their
designation as read-only values.
With these new features to support specimen tracking for
biobanking, inventory management, image management, electronic data
capture and the electronic lab notebook, Catalyzer 2.1 is now
firmly established as the leading comprehensive and
user-configurable data management solution for life scientists. "We
are delighted to have been able to respond to our customer's
requests for these new capabilities," said Nigel Goddard,
CEO. "Major research institutions such as Children's Hospital
Boston and the National Cancer Instituted, as well as top-ten
Contract Research Organisations, are adopting Catalyzer for an
increasingly broad range of applications. This trend validates our
positioning Catalyzer as a comprehensive solution."
